Socio-environmental diagnosis in communities on São Luís island
2024
Tewá 225 was hired by Plan International Brazil to conduct a socio-environmental diagnosis of the southern region of São Luís Island (MA), based on multiple dimensions of the impacts of climate change on communities. Based on this analysis, water insecurity, loss of income and food security, the escalation of socio-environmental conflicts, and the deterioration of health and well-being emerged as the greatest risks from climate change to this population. This made it possible to identify opportunities for climate action in these communities by addressing the roots of these impacts.
