Mentoring in Municipal Planning for Amazonian Cities - ANDUS Project
2023
The ANDUS (‘Apoio à Agenda Nacional Desenvolvimento Urbano no Brasil’) is an international cooperation initiative between the Brazilian government and the German government (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Zusammenarbeit – GIZ). One of its projects is the Mentoring on Municipal Planning for Amazonian Cities, which trained five municipalities in the Brazilian Legal Amazon to address climate-related challenges through urban planning, specifically using municipal planning tools. Tewá 225 was contracted to design and implement mentoring on municipal planning for five Amazonian cities. Through the mentoring program, it was possible to adapt urban methodologies and tools to the Amazon context, as well as to co-create, together with municipal leaders and stakeholders, solutions that are appropriate and adapted to the context. The result was tangible proposals for specific changes in the definition and application of municipal planning instruments in the selected municipalities.
